This year, Home-Start Herts are taking part in a National fundraising campaign called The Christmas Big Give – where all donations you make are doubled.
How The Big Campaign works:
- In August, we had to secure pledges from our partners and sponsors, to provide match funding. We have secured £4k in pledges
- The Big Give has partnered with a number of large Trusts, Foundations and companies who are known as Champions. In September, they each chose from the charities that have applied, who they would like to champion and match fund. We were delighted to be chosen by Four Acres
- Trust, who have match funded our pledge pot. We now have a total of £8K in pledges
- On the 1st December the Big Give Christmas campaign goes live and you have just 7 days (1st – 8th December) to donate via our specified Big Give fundraising page, to help us reach our target of £8.000! But – don’t forget – the money we already have pledged will be used to double every penny donated in that week* so you will actually have helped us raise £16,000 (+ gift aid if we’re eligible).
This means that there is no better time to donate than during the Christmas Big Give challenge, when your donation has twice the impact.
The money you donate will help local families, with young children, who are struggling to cope. Because of COVID-19 we are seeing more families who are at breaking point, with isolation, mental health issues, financial pressures and domestic abuse escalating.

So here is how you can help:
Make your donation to our Christmas Big Give page between 1st – 8th December
Your donations MUST be made via our online Big Give donation page, to be doubled
Donations cannot be made before or after those dates
We will not be allowed to help you process your donations to our Big Give challenge over the telephone.
If you are a UK tax-payer, please don’t forget to tick the Gift Aid box when you donate online, as your gift will be worth even more at no extra cost to you.
