St Albans Pancake Teams Out In Full Force!
The streets of St Albans were buzzing with pancake teams on Tuesday as locals and businesses celebrated the traditional Shrove Tuesday races. A record breaking 35 teams joined in with the running and walking races which saw Wagada Digital win the walking race for the 4th year in a row and Lumin Wealth retain the running race title for the 2nd year.
Organised by local charity Home-Start Hertfordshire, along with Business Buzz, the event raised £4,400 which will support local families who are vulnerable and struggling to cope.
Suzy Moody, CEO of Home-Start Herts said: “The St Albans Pancake Festival had such a great vibe this year, with a huge number of teams taking part. The atmosphere was brilliant and we were thrilled it was such a hit with the St Albans locals who came along to support the event. It’s really important for us to raise awareness of what we do and we are delighted with the amount of money we have raised – more this year that in previous years – which will all go towards helping local families.
We wouldn’t be able to put on this event without the support of our headline sponsor SA Law, our pancake banner sponsors and the goodwill of our wonderful volunteers who helped on the day. Thank you to Waitrose for providing the pancakes too!”
Local businesses that choose to support Home-Start Herts help change the lives of the most disadvantaged children and families in Hertfordshire. That means helping the local community at the heart of their brand – where their business is based.
